At Childs Tire, We are Now Performing Missouri Vehicle Inspections
Missouri requires safety inspections for most vehicles. In some counties, vehicles must also pass an emissions inspection. All safety and emissions inspections must be performed at an official state inspection station. Your vehicle must pass inspection to continue to legally operate on Missouri roads.
Safety inspections are required for all Missouri vehicles. They are also required for new residents wishing to register their vehicles, those who wish to renew their MO registration, a vehicle that is being sold, a vehicle that was involved in an accident, and vehicles required by a law enforcement officer to be inspected. Childs Tire does safety inspections and emissions inspections.
We serve O'Fallon, MO, St. Charles, MO, Wentzville, MO, and surrounding areas.
Emissions Inspection is also required depending on your county.
If your vehicle doesn't pass inspection, it is your responsibility to repair the failed parts or system, and you must complete the retest within 20 business days. If the retest is performed at the same station as the initial inspection, your retest is free.
The Missouri Department of Transportation Website states:
"If a vehicle fails an inspection, you will need to get the vehicle repaired and retested before you can register it.You can get your vehicle repaired at any mechanic, but you may want to use a Missouri Recognized Repair Technician (MRRT) if you think you may need an inspection waiver due to extensive repairs."
"If your vehicle fails its safety test:
There are no waivers for failing the safety inspection, so if your vehicle cannot pass, you will not be able to register it. You may also only receive one free re-inspection within the window of 20 business days."
